May 10-16, 2009
Celebrate the kick-off of Tinnitus Awareness Week in your own communities!
This year’s National Tinnitus Awareness Week theme is, “What YOU Can Do To Cure Tinnitus.” This theme reflects how both Walk For A Cure organizer Mari Quigley-Miller (also a 10-year tinnitus support group leader in Orange, California) and Los Angeles Tinnitus Support Group leader, Nelly Nigro, who has organized a tinnitus seminar to celebrate her support group’s 25th Anniversary, have empowered themselves and inspired others to do something proactive about their tinnitus.
The American Tinnitus Association (ATA) is celebrating this year’s National Tinnitus Awareness Week (TAW) in true style. They are ending the week with their first-ever Walk For A Cure. The physical walk will take place in Orange, California the morning of May 16, 2009, and there is also a virtual component that allows anyone from anywhere around the globe to participate in this ground-breaking event. All contributions to the Walk For A Cure will go towards ATA’s mission and programs that focus on finding a cure for tinnitus. On that same day, in Los Angeles, California, the Los Angeles Tinnitus Support Group will celebrate 25 years of service and support to tinnitus sufferers.
