I am a professional Drummer/Percussionist who resides in the LA area. I have had the honor of performing, touring, and or recording with many artists including: Chaka Kahn, Nelly Furtado, The Rembrandts, Richie Kotzen, Wynonna Judd, Narada Michael Walden, Joy Enriquez, Jon Secada, Cristian Castro, Louie Shelton, Carlos Vives, Jorge Calandrelli, Tony Campise, Brian McKnight, Lonnie Jordan, DJ Kane, Nicho Hinojosa, Cherie, Ziggy Marley, and Paulina Rubio. I have recorded and appeared on many albums as well as TV show cues, commercials, and films. I have made live Television performances including: The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, The Latin Grammys, CD USA, MTV, The US Open, MUN2, Vina Del Mar, Nobel Peace Prize Concert, Hoy, Ritmo Internacional, and Conciertos Clandestinos.
In The Field of Composition...
Paul scored the movie; E.L.M. - Entry Level Male, composed a 3-D animation short for the Motion Syndicate animation company (featuring scenes from Tekken 3), received an honorable mention in the PAS International Drumset Composition Contest (1991), composed music for Sam Houston State University (TX), Deer Park HS (TX), Huntsville HS (TX), Clear Brook HS (TX), and NorwoodHS (MA), Rivera HS (TX), and was commissioned to compose a percussion ensemble piece by the Brownsville Independent School District in Texas. Paul has several TV commercialand show cues, including work for Univision, UPN show 7 Days, CSI, CSI - Miami, and the FOX show Johnny Zero. Paul has three marching percussion features published with Row-Loff Productions: Blast Off!, Bump Thump, and Flying Start.
In The Field of Education...
Paul has taught numerous High Schools and competitive groups which include: East Coast Jazz Drum and Bugle Corp, Norwood HS (1998 WGI New England Scholastic Open Indoor Marching Percussion Champions), Deer Park HS, Clear Brook HS, Clear Lake HS, Huntsville HS, and the Murray Hill Drum and Bugle Corp. He received the C.R. Hackney Award for Music Education. Paul has judged many Texas U.I.L. events including Solo and Ensemble Contests, High School Region Orchestra and Band Tryouts, and High School All-StateJazz Tryouts. He was chosen to teach the Massachusetts Lion’s Club All-StateBand (1996), and co-taught the Sugar Bowl Half Time Marching Band with Fred Sanford (1994).
Paul has a B.M. in Music Education from Sam Houston State University, and a B.M. in Film Scoring from Berklee College of Music. Paul is an Honor’s Graduate from Hanna High School in Brownsville, Texas.
